Why I hate City-Link
City-link are a delivery company.
If they can't deliver they leave a note which suggests that they will deliver the next day. Generally they don't.
The parcel goes to their depot. The depots are quite good in that
they open early (8am) and close late (8pm). But here is the
problem.
I live in a villag 3 miles from Oxford (a city), City Link have a depot
in Oxford, unfortunately the depot for me is in Aylesbury.
Aylesbury is 25miles away, and I cycle to work.
You can't get them to leave the parcel without a signature, you can't
get them to deliver somewhere else unless the sender authorises it.
You can't get them to leave it at the other depot.
So, when you get a note from city-link and you don't know who it is
from, you either have to take the day off work and wait for parcel
(which may or may not be delivered [see 1]), or you have to
travel a 50mile round trip to their depot. For me that means I
drive to work, pay £7 to park, use my lunch hour to drive to
Aylesbury, so it costs me maybe £12 to get a parcel that I have
already paid to be delivered.
Yes, I should give them a work address for delivery when I order.
But I am not allowed to do that as the NHS don't allow deliveries
as it messes up their post room.
Rally-Design use City-link. I can no longer use Rally-design..
